The developer needed 640 beds ready for the start of the academic year, which left no room for programme slip.
We used a design and build contract with a repetitive concrete frame and prefabricated bathroom pods, which reduced wet trades on site and sped up finishing.
Students moved in on schedule. Rooftop solar and heat pumps cut the building’s grid electricity use by an estimated 35 percent compared with a standard design.
