Project overview

The challenge

The municipality needs more treatment capacity to serve a growing population, but the existing works must keep producing water every day.

Our approach

We are building two new clarifiers, a filter building and a pump station alongside the live plant. Tie-ins to the existing works are planned for low-demand periods and rehearsed in advance.

The outcome

The project is 60 percent complete and on programme. The first new clarifier is due to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2026.

Keeping the plant running during construction is our biggest risk, and Ironveld treats it that way in every meeting.
