The owner wanted to modernise eight floors of a 1980s office building without moving its 600 staff off site.
We refurbished one floor at a time, with noisy strip-out work done at night. Each finished floor was handed back before the next one closed, and lifts and escape routes stayed in use throughout.
All eight floors were completed in 11 months. Energy use per square metre fell by 28 percent after the lighting and air-conditioning upgrade.
