Hardscaping is the built part of the garden: paving, patios, retaining walls, steps, edging, water features and outdoor kitchens.
Our own crew builds every hard element, with proper bases and drainage so paving stays level and walls stay put. We work in natural stone, clay brick, concrete and timber, matched to your house and planting.

How much does it cost?
Paving and patios typically cost R850 to R2,400 per square metre installed, depending on the material. Retaining walls start at about R2,800 per square metre of wall face, excluding VAT.

Hardscaping questions
Do retaining walls need an engineer?
Walls over one metre high usually need an engineer’s design and municipal approval. We arrange both when needed.
Which paving lasts longest?
Natural stone and clay brick last the longest when laid on a proper base. Most problems come from poor bases, not poor materials.
How long does a patio take to build?
A typical patio takes one to two weeks, including groundworks and drainage.
